WORLD PEACE
We know that music can change the world. Remember that music led
us through the 60's and 70's - civil rights, student rights,
Vietnam fights, lefts and rights. Dancin' in the streets, singing
on the beach, and music in the sheets. The world is different now,
maybe less complex, maybe more complex, maybe less compassionate.
But we firmly believe that more music means fewer wars. And better
sex.
Live music, one of our most precious human commodities, is in
danger of extinction. Like serenades outside a Venetian window, or
Mariachi bands in the village square, or folksongs around a
campfire, all live music is threatened by technology, apathy, and
too many cable channels.
Sometimes
we record our songs, but we prefer to perform our music live. Live
music is a transcendental experience that can lift the spirits of
an entire roomful of strangers. The world doesn't need more
mp3's or iPods, but more live
music, more shared magical musical experiences. Let's slow down,
share some music together, and the world will be a better place.
ADDICTED TO THE THRILL
We must also confess a selfish obsession of ours - performing
live music is an adrenalin rush for the performers. At a rehearsal
or on the stage, music transports you to another dimension of time
and space. Also, there's that persistent rumor that music is the
path to eternal youth. Or maybe, it's just to have fun one more
time and share a grand evening together. This is live music. |
